ACB Certification Process

The American Certification Bureau (ACB) follows a structured and transparent certification process designed to ensure that organizations meet internationally recognized standards for quality, safety, environmental responsibility, and operational excellence. The ACB certification process is conducted in accordance with internationally accepted conformity assessment principles and follows a systematic approach from application to certification and ongoing surveillance.

2. Application and Initial Review

Organizations seeking certification submit a formal application to ACB providing details about their operations, scope of activities, number of employees, and operational locations.During this stage, ACB performs an initial application review to determine:Certification scopeOrganizational size and complexityApplicable industry sectorAudit duration requirementsThis information allows ACB to prepare an appropriate audit plan.

3. Gap Analysis (Optional Pre-Assessment)

ACB may conduct a gap analysis or pre-assessment audit to evaluate the organization’s existing management systems against the requirements of the selected ISO standard. This stage helps identify:Areas requiring improvementMissing documentationCompliance gapsImplementation readinessThe gap analysis helps organizations prepare effectively for the certification audit.

10. Certification Decision

Following the successful completion of the certification audit, ACB conducts an independent certification decision review. If the organization meets the required criteria, ACB issues an ISO Certification Certificate confirming compliance with the relevant ISO standard.Certificates are typically valid for three years, subject to ongoing surveillance audits.

11. Surveillance Audits

To ensure continued compliance, ACB conducts annual surveillance audits during the certification cycle.Surveillance audits verify:Continued implementation of the management systemCompliance with ISO requirementsEffectiveness of corrective actionsContinuous improvement of processes
